The Central Bank in Indonesia has issued a new bank note to replace the one bearing the portrait of former President Suharto.
The new 50, rupiah bank note, the largest denomination which is worth around six dollars, will carry the portrait of the composer of Indonesia's national anthem instead.
There has been strong public pressure on the government to remove Mr Suharto's picture from bank notes and stamps following his fall from power last May.
The fate of the bank note bearing Mr Suharto's enigmatically smiling face in some ways mirrors the former ruler's own fortunes.
When the 50, rupiah note was first introduced in it was worth around $23, Indonesia's economy was booming, and Mr Suharto chose to surround his portrait with symbols of his achievements; factories, chemical plants, roads and schools.
By the time he fell from power last year, the same note was worth just $4 and the economy was near collapse.
